USB 4 Gen 2x1Our digital expert will help you, but it can sometimes make mistakes, like humans do.
According to our external hard drive HDD expert
Room for large files: the 5-terabyte storage gives you enough room for large files, games, and backups.
Easy to take with you: thanks to its compact size, you can easily take this portable HDD anywhere.
Better file security: your sensitive files are better protected with password protection and data encryption.
No protection against fall damage: this HDD doesn't have a rugged case that protects it from fall damage.

Very satisfied with the purchase. Thunderbolt 4, lots of capacity and decent price.

it said "Secured memory" which is not the case. After I installed toolkit this option was not there. I ended up at LaCie/Seagate customer service (chat) and it soon became clear that this drive cannot be secured with an encryption password. You can secure the drive with Windows Bitlock, and if you use the drive as Time Machine in a Mac then the data is also encrypted but that has nothing to do with the hard disk itself, that can be done with any USB storage. But then you can no longer use the drive between a Windows PC and a Mac environment.
The noise level is acceptable in itself, but the hard disk is constantly switching on and off and then it becomes annoying for me.

2nd chance product. Didn't work because previous 'owner' formatted the product or something. Too bad, it was a nice offer. Excellent help in the CB shop.
