Installation is easy and fast, as you expect from Hue. But the app still has a lot of work to do.

As others have already indicated, you must take action yourself as soon as a sensor is opened. So if you are not near your mobile phone, your house will still be emptied. It would be nice if an alarm would go off or the lights would flash without manual intervention. This also brings me to point 2; you cannot add a siren, except for the expensive Hue camera. So when the contact is opened and you are not near your phone, only the light goes on (and when the thieves close the door again, it also goes off again).

And it's a shame that you can't distinguish between what the sensors do when the alarm is enabled or disabled. Currently, the lights in our house turn on as soon as a contact is opened to deter burglars. But since you cannot distinguish between on or off, this also means that if I open a door myself, the entire house immediately lights up. Especially during the day, with the alarm turned off, quite pointless.

Hopefully there will be separate sirens from Hue and a lot more options in the app, because at the moment I don't see this as an alarm. Waking up at night from a short push notification and then having to take action yourself is not convenient.

Didn't want too many different devices and already have quite a bit of HUE lighting indoors and outdoors. The HUE window and door contacts are affordable, easy to install, beautiful design, in two colors (white / black) and easy to connect with HUE lamps in combination with. functional automation (for example, switching on a lamp when a door or window opens). You will always receive a notification in the App when a window or door opens or closes.
