Take it out of the box, wipe it down with a cloth, and start using it right away. It works as expected. The controls are fairly self-explanatory, and thankfully the manual is clear and comprehensive. It does make a bit of noise compared to other microwaves, but that shouldn't spoil the fun; the food comes out nice and hot. A quick wipe down after each use is always a good idea.

The operation is a bit cumbersome. But it works perfectly.

After my old microwave, purchased in 1982, gave up the ghost on Monday night with a huge explosion from standby mode, you realize just how integrated a microwave has become into everyday life. Looking for a replacement, well, there was plenty of choice, especially in the € € € € segment; the cheaper versions were almost all under 900 watts and/or had a capacity barely sufficient to heat up a cup of soup. Until I discovered this Chinese/Dutch microwave: 25-liter capacity, extensive options, 900 watts, and under €100. Upon receipt (kudos to DHL), I unpacked and placed the microwave. At first, I couldn't get it to work, but after consulting the manual (I almost never do that myself, but that's beside the point), the microwave started up with a growl. I say "growl" because it isn't exactly silent. For 99 euros, this microwave has a lot of extras. You can manually bring a meal up to temperature, but also "cook" extensively using the auto program. In short: Highly recommended for those on a tight budget.
