Tefal Care For You First YT2020

The Tefal YT2020 automatic clothes steamer seems like a home solution if ironing shirts or wrinkle-prone garments is not one of your favorite activities. The clothes steamer is ready for use within a few minutes. Preparing the garments, especially buttoning all the buttons and positioning the straitners (weights), does take time and precision. The convenience lies mainly in the ability to remove wrinkles from multiple garments at the same time. Various basic settings are listed in the manual, which makes the clothes steamer very user-friendly. Once ready to use, you have to wait for the end result, wrinkle-free garments. Depending on the basic setting chosen, the clothes steamer has completed its program quickly. Unfortunately, it turns out that wrinkle removal does not produce the desired result for all garments, even if they are treated individually or in several at the same time. Shirts that have been given the property "wrinkle-free" come out of the clothes steamer reasonably wrinkle-free. Less flexible garments have a less good result. Even after a second more intensive treatment the result was not entirely satisfactory. The “quick” freshening up of garments with the steam function is easy and depending on the degree of contamination it is fine in terms of speed and result and will reduce allergens, however with garments that are worn more often, read less fresh, the result is less. The energy consumption of the clothes steamer probably depends on how and for what you are going to use the device. For quickly disinfecting and removing “fresh odors I expect the clothes steamer to be energy efficient. If you mainly want to use the device to dewrinkle less iron-free garments and have to steam several times for the desired result, this will increase.

Preparing the garments with the weights, hanging them, waiting, taking them out, and then taking the weights off takes much more time than ironing. For the best results, which are certainly only 50% compared to ironing, you can only hang three shirts.

Due to the limited space and setup restrictions, only one pair of trousers is suitable. Due to the limited length, trousers longer than a 32" length won't fit.

It works well in "fresh" mode and feels good in "hygiene" mode (but that's impossible to verify).

A nice gadget if you have a lot of money, but pass on this if you're looking at it as a replacement for ironing and/or a time saver; both are the opposite.
