Philips AquaTrio Series 7000 XW7264/11

The Philips AquaTrio is a solid device, all parts are easy to assemble and everything is fixed with a "click". The device consists of a vacuum cleaner/dustbuster combination and a vacuum cleaner/mop combination. The vacuum cleaner/dustbuster is handy to have, the suction power cannot be compared to a traditional vacuum cleaner, and it will therefore not be able to replace it, but you can quickly grab it, and it is handy to vacuum crumbs, carpets and rugs and with the supplied accessories you can easily take skirting boards, furniture, window frames and curtains with you. A real plus is the LED lighting on the nozzle with which you can clearly see what and where you are vacuuming. It is a pity for both the vacuum cleaner/dustbuster and the vacuum cleaner/mop combination that it cannot get completely under sofas/chairs and cabinets, because the motor housing/waste bin is in the way, it cannot lie completely flat on the floor. The vacuum/mop combination can vacuum and mop at the same time, it is not necessary to vacuum first before you start mopping, how nice is that.. although mopping is not as fast as with a traditional mop and the battery was unfortunately already empty halfway through and had to be charged again for 4 hours, I am amazed at the result, the floors are dry faster than with a traditional mop and look clean and shiny and the included Philips floor cleaner smells wonderfully fresh. However, if there are stains on the floor, you have to set the device to the intense cleaning mode and go over it several times to remove the stains. If you stop while mopping, the device itself starts the water absorption mode so that it does not leave a puddle of water on your floor, and when you are finished vacuuming/mopping, you place the device back in its cleaning/storage station and with the autoclean function the device cleans itself.

I was allowed to test this vacuum cleaner/dustbuster and vacuum cleaner/mop combination from Philips for a while, it was great fun to test and the Philips AquaTrio is definitely useful to have as an addition.

I was able to test the vacuum cleaner/mop combination for a few weeks. I think that all the parts look good and stylish (for a vacuum cleaner). The battery/accumulator is easily interchangeable between the vacuum cleaner and mop unit, and can be charged on both devices. The vacuum cleaner unit has 1 normal setting + a turbo. In addition to the normal "foot" (with LED light), there are various accessories included to vacuum harder-to-reach places. But the vacuum cleaner can also be used as a crumb thief. On hard floors I am satisfied with the suction power of the vacuum cleaner, even between the ridges of the wooden floor the crumbs are sucked away. I am less happy with the vacuuming on, for example, rugs. In my opinion it hardly sucks anything away there, you really have to use the small foot for this. I do find the vacuum cleaner to be a bit heavy in the hand. This is probably because the battery and cyclone are at the back, so that the weight "hangs" in your hand. The mop has also been tested and it is very nice. Especially the choice between 2 different wet settings (normal and extra wet) is very pleasant. The result is a clean floor. The first time it takes a while to see where the clean water should go etc. but it is actually not that complicated. In short; fine vacuum cleaner with mop for hard floors. Less satisfied for rugs.

I was allowed to test this for review.nl. It is a beautiful device and feels solid. Because it was a 3 in 1, I thought that was really nice. I already had something like that from another brand. What struck me was that there are 2 rods. This does not make the 3 in 1 really 3 in 1 for me. It is super manoeuvrable, which makes it easy to reach everywhere. But if you want to vacuum your skirting boards or sofa, you have to grab the other rod and change the battery. Doesn't make it much easier, unfortunately.
