TP-Link Tapo C230

Good camera, but when mounted behind glass there is reflection during night vision due to IR light, even though the specifications state that it is suitable for mounting behind glass.

This device works so much better than I expected. The night vision and regular color camera ensure you always see something. The cam is super easy to connect to your Wi-Fi and then always accessible with the app (after pairing). You can activate trackers and recordings for a pet (I believe only dogs and cats), people, cars, and sounds (glasses, barking, meowing, crying babies). You can set an alarm for each of these trackers. It has a microphone and speaker so you can communicate with your child or pet, or boo an intruder. You can set a "patrol" mode, where you rotate the camera to different points that you save, and then the camera can continuously switch between them, so you can, for example, watch the front and back with a single camera for an entire vacation. The app also does a great job of keeping track of when the camera has recorded something via a timeline, and you can (if you use a microSD card or the cloud) review and download the videos. It's a really great camera, especially for the price. I do always worry about the revenue model of these kinds of companies, though. There's a trend of them mandating cloud services after a while, making it impossible to use their product. I'm already seeing patterns emerge, such as automatic firmware upgrades for cameras that don't need firmware upgrades if they're working properly, and heavy promotion of their cloud services.

I bought it to keep an eye on my dog when I leave her alone. The app guides me through the installation process. Very easy, very fast. I inserted a micro SD card so I didn't have to sign up for a cloud subscription, and everything works perfectly.
