Philips OneUp 5000 Series XV5113/01

The Philips OneUp 5000 series XV5113/01 is a user-friendly electric mop. You can quickly clean your floor with it. During testing, I was particularly struck by the ease of use thanks to the built-in water reservoir and the fresh end result.

Cleaning is easy and fast The Philips OneUp is easy to use. The device is light and I can move it smoothly through my house. I can easily turn the mop head around furniture and cleaning in corners is also easy. Thanks to the wide mop cloth, I can clean a large area of floor in one movement. This way, I can finish mopping faster.

Get started in a few seconds The mop cloth quickly becomes damp, without having to wait long. This way, I can get started right away. I simply fill the removable water reservoir under the tap. I click the reservoir out of the mop with the push of a button and quickly fill it with water. This makes the device handy for a quick freshening up.

Fresh end result with included cleaning agent The device comes with a cleaning agent that I click directly into the water reservoir of the mop. I don't have to measure the cleaning agent myself. This way I know for sure that I use the right amount of cleaning agent. The agent cleans well and leaves a fresh scent. During testing, stains also disappeared from the floor, without me having to scrub really hard.

Handy container for dirty water The dirty water automatically ends up in a separate reservoir. This means that it doesn't spread over the floor again. When I'm done mopping, I can easily empty the reservoir into the sink. I don't touch the dirty water. This way I clean hygienically and quickly. After mopping, the floor does remain a little wet. This dries up by itself, but I don't walk over it again right away. Otherwise, there will be footprints on my floor again.

It does what it promises, but the instructions are a bit brief. For example, you can access the reservoirs from the back and push them forward on both sides to remove them. That is not mentioned anywhere, so in the beginning you have to bucket terribly to remove the reservoirs. That is not so nice if you have osteoarthritis and that is why you bought this mop. But once you know how it works, it works fine. Two settings on this model and wet is really wet. So with somewhat coarser or sticky dirt, it gets clean well. The mop is also quite heavy, but it is still easy to do. The original cleaning agent is 20 euros for two bottles, which is quite expensive. And there is also no smell to be detected when mopping, a missed opportunity. Fortunately, you can put your own cleaning agent in the supplied bottle when it is empty. It comes with 1 pad which is a bit small, if you have two you can mop while one is in the wash….

In itself I am not dissatisfied, but I do doubt whether the floor is actually cleaner with this mopping system compared to the 'old-fashioned' mopping. The floor dries quite quickly, with the normal water dosage. With one reservoir you can mop approximately 25m2, depending on your speed and accuracy. Some users complain about streaks that remain after mopping; I absolutely do not recognize that complaint! And: do not be stubborn and dose extra cleaning agent, a puff is really enough. I was stubborn too, but had to start again because the system started to foam enormously. Presumably this has left streaks with users who complain about this. Do you want to be able to mop for a long time? Then definitely choose the 5000 series and not the cheaper 3000 series. Everyone benefit from it!
