iRobot Roomba 205 Combo White

The Roomba 205 Combo black with the new app works bizarrely bad. Already on day 1 I contacted the Roomba service desk, they could indeed see that there was a malfunction, advice; unscrew the bottom and remove the battery for 30 minutes. Unfortunately it was to no avail. The errors;

1. Time and again no connection between the app and the Roomba
2. Set cleaning routine does not work
3. In the middle of the night the Roomba suddenly turns on, on the app I see that a room that does not exist in my app is being cleaned
4. During cleaning, Roomba returns to the charging station with a message that the battery is empty while the battery is still charged for 75%.
5. Roomba switches off and has to be restarted every time.

After communicating about the various problems with the Roomba service desk, the only response I get is that they can imagine that I want to return the Roomba. No proposal for a solution is made. Are these known problems?!

We are extremely disappointed. We have had a lot of fun with the Roomba 555 for years, one of the first models. Indestructible and a go-getter, if there was ever an issue you could easily replace the parts yourself. I miss Stoffel!!

We are also satisfied with a newer Roomba model (with the previous app) that we have abroad, although we are a bit less satisfied because we find it more of a 'beeper' (the app sends you many notifications 'when my container is full', 'my brush needs to be cleaned', we did not have that problem with Stoffel. But in any case, this generation of Roomba works as intended.

Due to all the problems now, we have completely lost confidence in the Roomba, we suspect that a large part of the problems are caused by the new app that does not work. It is so disappointing that we are switching to another brand. Our advice; stop selling the new generation Roomba until the app problems are solved.

For anyone hesitating: just buy that robot vacuum, it is worth it.

Now for the nuance: it is very nice to do a quick vacuuming routine every day, especially if you have pets (and like me, back problems that make daily vacuuming a challenge). You can set the vacuum to three settings (quick, normal, or thorough), and that is very nice. It can even mop! Creating a map of your house is also a breeze, although I did have to redo it because it missed a spot. You control it conveniently via an app and can also turn rooms on or off.

However, the battery life is too short for thorough vacuuming including mopping, and I only live in a 65m² apartment. Additionally, it requires quite a bit of space and, for example, does not fit under my dining chairs and BESTA cabinets. Naturally, you also have to keep your floors clear of clutter to let it do its job properly. And in my case, it got stuck under my side table. So not perfect, a few minor issues now and then, but despite that, I'm super happy with it! It doesn't make a crazy amount of noise either, so my cats don't even look up or around anymore when it comes by.
