Sony BRAVIA Theatre Rear 8 Black (2-pack)

I've been using the Sony Bravia Theatre Rear 8 for a while now and I'm happy with it. Installation was quick and easy. The speakers connect wirelessly to my TV, and it worked perfectly right away. The sound is really good: clear, full, and with deep bass. During movies, it feels like the sound is coming from all directions, which creates a great cinematic experience. Music also sounds much better than before. The speakers also look modern. With the BRAVIA Connect app, I can easily control them from my phone, which I also find very convenient.

A really great set. The installation is just as you'd expect from Bravia speakers: unpack, place as instructed, continue the installation in the app, and listen away.

The sound has really been upgraded by the rear speakers. You really feel like you're in the movie itself. I sometimes reflexively look behind me because I heard something there.

It's also a real plus with music; the sound is beautiful, full, and doesn't distort even when you turn it up a bit.

When I unpacked it, I immediately felt: okay, this is going to be great. These speakers feel sturdy and look quite chic without any overly fancy design frills. You can just tell they're not cheap junk. Connecting to the Theatre Bar via the Bravia Connect app was surprisingly easy. I barely had to figure anything out; before I knew it, everything was playing.

Once you're actually listening to the sound, you really notice the added value. Especially if you add a subwoofer, because then there's so much more bass and depth that the overall sound becomes much fuller. Without a subwoofer, you can clearly hear surround effects, but it lacks that body in the bass. With a subwoofer, it almost feels like the movie is literally happening around you—sounds move behind you, left, right, sometimes it feels like something's happening above you. Really cool.

Small drawback: it doesn't have regular Bluetooth. So you always have to play something via the Bravia app or AirPlay/Spotify Connect. That works fine for me, but if someone else wants to quickly put on some music, it's a bit of a hassle. Anyway, that's beside the point—I'm otherwise very satisfied. It sounds fantastic and makes movies much more immersive.
