We had read multiple reviews and watched YT videos beforehand. This made us switch from our original choice to this version. Even though the price was better elsewhere, we chose Coolblue because it was delivered quickly, often via Coolblue itself (although this time it was PostNL), and we know that customer service is there (and works) in case of problems. So we were not afraid of a number of negative points that we saw.
We chose the new version (there was a second chance version that was too clearly used) and we really do not regret it. Apart from a single tear-off that was not on it, the product was brand new and it works out of the box. Yes, an update had to be run, yes there are really some dramatic things, but that is mainly / actually only in the app.
The app is uhm.. young. Mapping cannot be done 'again' (so the map is not correct now) and the biggest problem is that you cannot just adjust an automation... No, then you have to enter the whole thing again. That said, the potential is extreme. Cut your house into sections, make willy nilly rooms and schedule it whenever it suits you. From 1 or 2 passes. from low to high suction power, vacuuming and mopping or vacuuming and then mopping... the options are there and oh how much fun I've had with it already (despite the workaround on the app). It cleans the kitchen every day by vacuuming hard and then mopping. The rest of the house is just vacuuming with all its might and on Friday the whole house gets a mop... You can schedule it however you want. So every morning, before I actually want to do anything in the living room, it does an extra round of the litter box... (guess why we needed robots in the first place...).
It can be planned and it is so incredibly clean. We already had robots, but the generation gap was noticeable. Yes, this thing is not cheap, but it also came with something in return. Set it to soft suction when you know you'll be home in the schedule, or let it blast when you're not. Only when the robot in the station needs to be emptied is it loud, for the rest we didn't find 'hard suction' particularly loud, but then again we're used to worse and older robots.
We recommend it, it's clean, it doesn't fall down the stairs, it mops (well, scrubs... and goes back to rinse its mops clean in between) and at the moment I can walk barefoot through the living room despite the litter box that's there...
I think that for everyone who has ever had cats (or just has them) the hint is there.
Now we just have to make the side note that we've only had the robot for a few weeks... long term and whether it will survive in the long term... remains to be seen!
The most 'negative' thing about the robot was that the supplied power cord was crap. Was loose in the station and was immediately replaced by a decent C13 cable (PC power / monitor). So pay attention if you buy the machine and you do NOT have spare cables, then it is loose. Now that is easy to solve with some tape etc. but it would be better if that build quality is solved by Roomba itself ... in case they ever read this.
