Samsung HW-Q930F (2025)

I think the Samsung HW-Q930F is a nice soundbar with cinema-worthy sound. With this soundbar you get a small subwoofer and 2 rear speakers. These speakers make the sound of the HW-Q930F more spacious and ensure a complete surround setup. Thanks to the Q-Symphony support, the soundbar works together with the speakers of your TV and the sound is more balanced.

9.1.4. channel system The HW-Q930F has a total of 17 speakers with 9.1.4 channel sound. This allows me to enjoy 9 separate sound channels, one subwoofer and 4 upward-facing speakers. This is more than enough for my living room. The sound is clear and bright, whether the volume is high or low. What strikes me most is the quality of the subwoofer. It is quite small, but still provides rich bass tones. During an action film, the sound of explosions sounds so realistic that it seems as if it is happening in my living room itself. At the same time, the subwoofer provides deeper tones when I watch a series at a lower volume. With the HW-Q930F, I enjoy rich, realistic sound all day long.

Spatial Dolby Atmos sound Thanks to the 4 upward-facing speakers in the soundbar, 2 included rear speakers and True Dolby Atmos support, I enjoy cinema-worthy sound. The installation fills my entire room with sound, which reflects off the ceiling and walls to my seat. It seems as if the sound is coming from all sides and I am right in the middle of the action. I especially notice this when I watch an exciting action or horror film. These films get an extra dimension with the HW-Q930F.

Q-Symphony Like other Samsung soundbars, the HW-Q930F supports Q-Symphony. This technology makes the speakers of your Samsung TV work together with the speakers in the soundbar. The effect of the technology is subtle, but valuable. I especially notice it in films and series with a lot of conversations. With Q-Symphony, high tones are easier to hear and the sound is better balanced. This way, I can distinguish between different voices in chaotic scenes and I am less dependent on subtitles.

I thought it was an expensive purchase for a soundbar, but I don't regret it. I love action movies, and what a joy they are! In my little terraced house, I feel like I'm in the cinema. The sound literally comes from everywhere, and it creates a truly immersive experience: a sudden noise actually startles you, for example, airplanes fly overhead, theatrical music softly comes on and completely draws you in.

The remote control works, and you can adjust everything with it (but the only "picture" you have is a small frame hidden behind the grid). You can control the settings more easily via the SmartThings app. It took a bit of fiddling to get the soundbar registered via the app (it turned out to be my mistake: I initially connected my phone to the soundbar via Bluetooth, and then the app returned an error message).

It also took some time to find the correct settings: when I first used it, all speakers (subwoofer, soundbar, and two rear speakers) were set to level 0. However, the rear speakers didn't produce much sound with these settings. After some experimentation, the subwoofer and soundbar are now set to level 0, and the rear speakers to level 6. This gives a more balanced distribution. These settings will probably vary from room to room.

Even when listening to music via Bluetooth, my living room is filled with music, both perfectly and clearly.

It took a bit of searching and some fiddling, but all's well that ends well. and I can only recommend the device now.

After switching from the Samsung HW-S60B, HW-w500 subwoofer, and SWA 9200s, the difference is unsurpassed. Beautiful, divine Dolby Atmos. I love my new Q930f kit. The price is not excessive. I recommend it to anyone who is still hesitating.
