According to our NAS expert
You can store about 80 large games with the included internal HDDs.
With room for 4 M.2 SSDs, you can set up a fast cache memory for frequently used files and media yourself.
Thanks to the 4GB RAM and Dual-Core processor, you can work without delays with more than 10 people at the same time.
This NAS doesn't have a Thunderbolt connector, so you can transfer large files less quickly to other devices.
With the ASUSTOR AS5404T NAS, you can create a server for your favorite media or games and store all your data on the 2 included Seagate IronWolf 4TB internal HDDs. With these internal hard drives, you can store about 80 large games. That way, you can store all your files in 1 spot. You have space for 4 HDDs and 4 M.2 NVMe SSDs. This allows you to quickly create a cache memory, so you can boot your frequently used files and documents faster. Thanks to the 4GB RAM and Dual-Core Intel Celeron processor, you can process light tasks without slowing down and use the NAS with more than 10 people at the same time. You also have a fast internet connection, thanks to the 2 Ethernet ports that support 2.5Gbit. That way, you always have a second port if the first doesn't work.

The Asustor NIMBUSTOR 4 Gen2 AS5404T is a compact NAS with a lot of storage space and fast working memory. This allows me to store a lot of files and work with multiple people on the NAS at the same time. Placing the bays is a bit stiff due to the plastic housing, but once they are fixed they work fine with a hard drive in it.
Storage and connections Because this NAS has room for 4 2.5 inch SSDs, 3.5 inch HDDs or M.2 NVMe SSDs, I can easily store all my large files. Unfortunately, no hard drives are included, but this allows me to determine how much storage space I want. I store multiple 4K films, photo albums or important work files with the AS5404T. Thanks to the 4 gigabytes of RAM, I can open many files at the same time, even when working with colleagues or friends with the NAS. This makes multitasking no problem. Even when I transfer large folders with photos or videos at once, it works well or makes no noise.
Connections This NAS also has an HDMI 2.0 port, which I use to connect this external server to my laptop or television to watch films or series. In addition, the NAS has 2 built-in 2.5 Gbit Ethernet ports. This gives me a fast internet connection, even if one fails. Through the 2 USB connections, I can connect peripherals for making backups with an external hard drive or connect a printer to the NAS.
Easy to use Installing this NAS is easy, because you only need 2 cables to connect it. Both the power cable and 2 internet cables are included in the box. I can connect the NAS without any problems to the Asustor AiMaster app on my smartphone or the Asustor Control Center on my computer and get started right away. The bays are firmly attached behind a magnetic front plate, which prevents dust from entering. Taking the bays out of the case feels a bit awkward, because you have to pull hard on the plastic. Despite that, placing a drive in the bays is not difficult and it works immediately.

Works perfectly with Apple, unprecedented many possibilities and therefore sometimes a lot of figuring out. Asustor offers very good and clear support in Dutch via site.

I wanted something to safely hold backups of my PCs and as a repository for my family photos. Basic file sharing is handled very well. In addition, I can run apps like Photoprism in Docker to expand the usefulness of the device.
