I bought this Ecovacs as a replacement for the Segway Navimow i105e for a small, simple rectangular garden of 120m2.

Let's start at the beginning.

This is a robot with both 2 lidar sensors and Camera Vision, yet it manages to hit every possible obstacle in the garden and constantly gets stuck in hedges, patios, etc.

The setup was already very difficult, as the robot rebooted after a firmware upgrade but then suddenly didn't return to the app, even though it had simply been updated to the new version and had already started up. After a manual reboot, it came back online in the app.

During the first mapping attempt, the robot got stuck after 1 meter—you really, 1 meter—with the message ‘Left Rear wheel blocked’. This surprised me because my grass was between 5-6 cm long in most places at that moment. After a manual mowing to 5 cm, the traction turned out to be slightly better but still much, much worse than the Segway. After literally trying 7 times and helping the robot with a gentle nudge whenever it got stuck, I was finally able to map my garden.
