Dometic Recon Small 16L Silt

With the Dometic Recon Small 16L Silt, I take cold drinks with me during an afternoon in the park and also use it as a small water tank. Many small bottles fit inside, but not large 1.5-liter bottles.

Easy to use

At home, I place the cooler on the table and fill it with ice packs, ice, and water. The standard tap cap turns the box into a water tank, allowing me to pour the drink directly from the tap into a cup. The box also contains an extra cap that you use with the separate Dometic Go Recon 360 water tap. You buy that tap separately and quickly click it onto the cooler. This allows me to easily switch between the cooler and the water tank.

Sturdy design

In the park, the cooler stands firmly next to our blanket on the grass. The thick walls and lid feel strong when I move it. Thanks to the non-slip feet and the non-slip lid, it stays put, even if someone accidentally bumps into it. With the drain cap on the side, I let melted ice water drain away without tilting the entire cooler. However, I do find it a disadvantage that large 1.5-liter bottles do not fit in this cooler.

Easy to lift by the handles From the car, I can easily carry the cooler with two hands using the wide, magnetic handles. Thanks to the safety lock, the handles click together and the lid stays securely closed while walking. For a short walk, this works fine and the cooler feels easy to carry. However, when walking for a longer period with a full cooler, I feel the weight in my arms and it feels really heavy.
