The steam function is an added value of this air fryer. Because of this, if you want to reheat something, it doesn't come out dry.

The steam clean function takes 20 minutes. After 15 minutes, you have to take the basket out and clean it yourself with soapy water. After all, all the grease remains in the pan. Then you put the basket back in the air fryer, where it is dried during the last 5 minutes.

The viewing window is very handy. With my old air fryer, I always had to take the basket out to check if it was done. With the viewing window, that is not necessary.

I find the capacity sufficient for 2 to 3 people. It is too small for a larger family.

I am truly impressed by what this Philips Airfryer 5000 Series can do. The viewing window, in particular, is a game changer: I no longer have to pull open the drawer to check if my food is crispy yet. And seriously: cinnamon rolls come out so beautifully golden brown, just like they came from a bakery.

I use the steam function more often than expected, especially for vegetables and fish. Everything stays juicy and fresh. But let's be honest: the appliance is quite bulky. You really need space for it on your countertop. And once it starts running, it makes more noise than I had hoped.

Still, I am happy with the purchase, mainly because of the versatility and the quality of the food.

After just a few weeks, I can already say that I am very pleased with this air fryer. The design is beautiful and practical; for instance, it has a viewing window to check how your baked goods are turning out. Furthermore, this air fryer features several handy functions, such as a shake reminder to ensure your food becomes evenly crispy, and it has a steam and steamfry function for specific items like gyoza. You can also use this steam function to clean the air fryer of limescale or grease residue; everything has been thought of! The Philips HomeID app has many recipes with clear instructions, and so far, everything has turned out successfully!
