Harman Kardon SoundSticks 5 WiFi White

The Harman Kardon SoundSticks 5 Wifi is a stylish speaker set that delivers powerful and balanced sound. The built-in lights ensure that the dome and speakers form a beautiful whole. Unfortunately, the set comes with many cables that I find difficult to hide neatly.

Cool design I find the design of the speaker set futuristic due to the glass dome and the glass sticks. They all have built-in lights, making it a beautiful whole. They are true mood lights, as they do not illuminate the entire room. The right speaker features subtle buttons with touch controls, allowing me to adjust the volume easily and quickly. I think it is a nice detail that the lights indicate the current volume level. At the bottom, the glass dome has sturdy feet made of soft material. This ensures it stands stably without scratching my furniture. The stick speakers stand firmly on a flat base made of soft, rubbery material. I do, however, do my best to neatly hide all 3 cables.

Powerful balanced sound The speakers deliver balanced and powerful stereo sound. As a result, I hear depth in the sound and it sounds realistic. Additionally, I hear solid bass tones. At the bottom of the dome sits a large woofer that vibrates fully during bass-heavy tracks. Because of this, I enjoy the beat in hip-hop and techno music. Higher vocal and instrumental sounds come out clear and distinct from the sticks. This sounds well-balanced with the bass tones. For example, with classical music, I can clearly hear the different parts, yet it still sounds like a unified whole. When I turn the volume down to half, the music sounds clear and full in my living room and kitchen.

Handy app

The speaker set works with the Harman Kardon One app. In this app, I choose from various lighting settings. This allows me to determine not only which color theme I want, but also the brightness and the speed of the light pattern. I also adjust the sound in the app. I choose from pre-set equalizer presets or manually adjust the sound to my liking. I listen to the Signature Sound by default, but when listening to music during drinks, I choose Energetic. The bass tones and vocal parts sound more powerful then. I easily connect the speaker to my phone via Wi-Fi using the Harman Kardon One app. I find it convenient that I can keep doing my own thing. For instance, I watch a video on my timeline or call someone without the music interrupting.
