I used this device on an adult and a 4-month-old baby. The measurements vary widely; the position also has a major influence, but it does not work well even at the indicated spot.
I compared the temperature with a Braun ear thermometer (latest model) and, for the baby, with an additional bottom thermometer from a well-known brand. The baby had 38.6 in the bottom and 37.3 according to this thermometer in the indicated zone and with the correct age setting. Multiple measurements did not even come close to 38. For the adult, there were similar large differences between the ear thermometer and this one.
Replaced the battery, same result.
It is also annoying that you have to set the age correctly every time you restart the device. Measuring the water temperature for the baby bath did not work at all; I could not get a reading at the indicated distance or closer.

According to our fever thermometer expert
The thermometer measures not only your body temperature, but also the temperature of liquids and food.
Thanks to the traffic light colors on the screen, you can see right away if your temperature is too high.
You can take the temperature without contact, so the thermometer works more hygienically and faster than a standard thermometer.
You have to keep track of the results of previous measurements yourself, because this thermometer doesn¿t save any readings.
