Dreame X60 Pro Ultra Complete Gray

The Dreame X60 takes the burden off my weekly cleaning tasks. Because the robot vacuums and mops on its own, I always come home to a clean house after work. When I am at home, the robot doesn't bother me, as it is very quiet while cleaning. Only the installation takes a bit longer.

Installation and app

After I took the robot vacuum out of the box, it started its first round through my house. During this round, the robot maps out my home. This allows me to set up zones in the app. This first round did take longer than the app had indicated. As a result, setting up the robot took a little longer than I had expected beforehand. Fortunately, once this was done, I was able to use the robot easily.

Mopping and vacuuming

In the app, I set the robot to vacuum everything first and then mop. You can also choose in the app to have it mop and vacuum simultaneously, or only mop or only vacuum. While mopping, the robot cleans its mop in between passes so that it does not spread dirt. This makes my floor even cleaner.

Extendable arm Because the robot has a long mopping arm and side brush, it easily reaches corners. The robot extends its mopping arm up to 18 centimeters. This allows it to mop behind the planter, as well as between and around chair legs. It extends the side brush up to 12 centimeters. This makes it easier to vacuum up dust and dirt, even in places the robot is too tall to reach.

Base station Thanks to the beautiful design, I place the base station in my kitchen-diner instead of hiding it away in the hallway. This way, I can easily refill the water reservoir, and the robot quickly returns to its base station for a quick charge.

We previously used the Dreame X50 Ultra. Over time, we ran into software issues with it. Coolblue resolved this well and helped us switch to the X60. That is why we are writing this extensive review, based on approximately two weeks of use.

The X60 is a noticeable step forward in almost every respect. The base station is more compact and the device responds faster. The navigation radar slides in and out during a session without the delay that characterized the X50. The transition from tile to mat is effortless, navigation without radar is more structured, and it is less likely to get stuck on high-pile carpet. Noise production has also improved: the wheels, in particular, are quieter than on its predecessor, making it pleasant to let it run its rounds in the evening while you go to bed.

The cleaning quality of the X50 was already good and remains so with the X60. The higher suction power, thermal pads, and extra power of the cloths are not immediately visible in the result. What does make a difference, however, is the more advanced mop arm. This ensures that the device can work more tightly around table and chair legs. As a result, the cleaning quality is not necessarily better, but it is slightly more comprehensive.

The device also has a few minor limitations. The longer extension arm for the mop reaches corners better, but the vacuuming brushes extend less far. Consequently, some spots are not vacuumed, only covered by the mop. Keep this in mind for areas where dirt accumulates.

Dreame boasts a lot about extensive and fast object recognition, but both fall somewhat short in practice. The object recognition misses the mark in most cases, although this does not affect the cleaning quality. The speed of object recognition is also less impressive in practice than the marketing suggests. A more spacious home with few loose items ultimately yields the best results.

If you are looking for convenience, this robot vacuum is a welcome addition. Rationally speaking, vacuuming and mopping by hand remains faster and more comprehensive. The profit lies mainly in the fact that you use it more often than you would yourself.

I bought the Dreame x60 via Cool Bleu. On the first day, I had problems with the mops. I had to manually click the mop head into place and it started cleaning. In between, I went to the charging station to clean the mop head. And I had to manually click the mop head back in again. I thought I was doing something wrong. After a few days, I contacted Dreame. It had to be returned because it was a mechanical problem. I sent it back to Cool Bleu and was allowed to request a new Dreame x60 to be sent. I received this one very nicely as well. I installed it the first evening and let it vacuum. That went fine. The next day, I mopped. The first half hour went well, and then one mop head started rotating and the arm wouldn't extend anymore. Completely disappointed, I sent it back to Cool Bleu. I received my money back very promptly. Since two devices had problems with the mop head, I have absolutely no confidence in the Dreame x60. And I wouldn't dare buy another one either. Which is a real shame.
