You can never tackle thick stains with a device like this. It lifts the mop head neatly on carpet. It navigates well. Sometimes very cautiously, though. During the first runs, the robot scans the house and maps it out. I did have to adjust the rooms a bit, but that was easy with the app. The app is very comprehensive, by the way, and everything is configurable. Take your time with that.
