Ring Wired Video Doorbell 4K Pro

The image quality of this Ring doorbell is really very sharp. Fortunately, installing the doorbell was relatively easy. First, you need to ensure you have a 24V doorbell transformer in your fuse box. This is simply included with the Ring doorbell. In my case, the correct transformer was already in the fuse box, so I could skip that step.

Next, you install the Ring app on your phone. You scan the QR code located on the back of the new doorbell, and the app then guides you step-by-step through the installation. The wiring of my old doorbell was a bit on the short side, but they thought of that too. Two small extension pieces are included that are super easy to attach. After that, you basically only need to tighten a few screws and connect the doorbell to your Wi-Fi via the app.

In the app, you can set up different zones where you do not want to receive notifications. You can also turn on facial recognition so that you receive a notification of who is standing at your door. Unfortunately, you do need a subscription for facial recognition and a number of other features. You get this for free for the first 30 days. Fortunately, you can also use the doorbell perfectly well without a subscription.

A nice extra is that you can also connect the doorbell to other Amazon devices. For example, if you have an Echo Show or a Fire TV, you can also see who is walking in front of your door or past your camera. Additionally, you can have your Amazon Echo speakers give a notification when someone rings the bell.

I recently installed this Ring doorbell at my front door. I already had a good, suitable doorbell transformer in the fuse box; if you don't have one, you will need to arrange that. I am pleasantly surprised by the new sleek design of the Ring doorbell compared to previous models. It looks high-quality and feels that way too—beautiful! Once it was mounted, pairing it in the app was done in no time. Just getting to know the Ring app and subscribing to be able to store footage properly.

I notice that the motion detection is good and notifications come through nice and quickly, which is what I expect for this price. The image is nice and sharp and the sound is fine. I can see well enough in the dark too, although I don't expect anyone to ring the bell then :)

Installation is quick and easy. It can also be connected via a wired connection so the battery does not need to be charged. A handy and well-functioning app that responds quickly when a caller is present.

The only downside: the cost of a subscription to unlock all features (quite crucial).
