Marshall Acton IV BT Cream

The Marshall Acton IV is a small speaker that delivers powerful and full sound. Thanks to its classic design, it looks great in my interior. I use the app to customize everything to my preferences. I find it a pity that I hear sharp sounds in some songs.

Powerful and full sound The speaker has a nice, compact size, allowing it to fit in any corner of the house. Yet, it delivers powerful and full sound. The volume can go high and easily fills my entire living room and kitchen with music. High notes from vocals and instruments sound clear and full. This makes it sound almost as if I am hearing the song live. The bass tones are powerful, allowing me to clearly hear the beat in the music. I enjoy this especially with house music. Unfortunately, the sibilant sounds in some songs are sharp, which makes for unpleasant listening. I use the treble knob to soften the sharp sound just a little bit.

Chic design As I have come to expect from Marshall, the Acton IV speaker features a classic design once again. The plastic edges and gold details give it a chic look. Because of this, I consider it a musical and stylish addition to my interior. With the rotary knobs on the top, I can easily adjust the volume, bass strength, and treble. I use the M button for Spotify Tap. This plays music recommended to me. I find this handy when I get tired of the playlists I often play. You can customize the action of the M button in the app.

Extensive app There are many possibilities in the Marshall app. For instance, I choose the sound from 5 presets or set the sound entirely to my liking. With Placement Compensation, I indicate whether the speaker is close to a wall or on the edge of a surface. The speaker then adjusts the sound based on its position. Furthermore, I customize the action of the M button. I choose between Spotify Tap, switching between equalizer modes, or selecting no action. I like the Spotify Tap function because it gets suggested songs that I haven't heard often. Finally, I set a standby timer and adjust the brightness of the lights on the speaker in the app.
