JURA A8 Piano Black (EA)

At 19 centimeters wide, the JURA A8 is JURA's slimmest fully automatic coffee machine, meaning it fits even in a small kitchen. However, the 0.8-liter water reservoir is on the small side, so you will have to refill it more often.

Slim size I test many fully automatic machines, and the JURA A8 stands out to me because of its compact size. At 19 centimeters wide, I can easily slide it between two cabinets or onto a full countertop. Due to its compact size, the coffee machine has a smaller 0.8-liter water reservoir. As a result, I have to refill it more often than with a larger model.

Convenient display I operate the machine without any hassle using the clear display and buttons. I can quickly choose from pre-programmed coffee specialties, from espresso to flat white. I appreciate this, as I don't have to search for the right setting.

Easy milk frothing Thanks to the milk frothing tube, the JURA A8 automatically froths milk at the touch of a button. This allows me to make a cappuccino or latte macchiato without having to steam the milk myself. That works quickly, and I don't have to keep an eye on the right amount of foam myself.

Hot Brew & Light Brew With Hot Brew, I brew my coffee the classic way. The machine brews the coffee at a high temperature for a full and rich aroma. If I choose Light Brew, the machine prepares my coffee at a lower temperature of about 60 degrees Celsius. As a result, I taste even lightly roasted beans more mildly, and I drink my coffee immediately. This way, I tailor the brewing to the beans I have at home.

Pre-program coffee with app Using the Coffee Timer in the JURA app, I set the time the machine brews my coffee. This way, I prepare a cup in the evening and have a fresh cup of coffee immediately the next morning. That is handy if I want coffee as soon as I wake up.

After a few delicious different types of coffee, I can safely say that the 20cm wide machine is an unprecedented powerhouse.

A wolf in sheep's clothing.

The taste is partly determined by the types of beans you put in it, so you can decide that yourself, but the speed of brewing the coffee comes from the machine. This does not disappoint at all. A minor drawback, however, is that the drip tray and water reservoir are somewhat smaller due to the incredibly compact size. You can place it in the smallest corner of your kitchen counter.

The JURA A8 is not only a good coffee machine, but it also looks very sleek. The Piano Black finish gives it a luxurious look and fits beautifully in a modern kitchen. The controls are clear and the machine is easy to use. I particularly appreciate that you can make different types of coffee with just one device. A real upgrade compared to a standard coffee maker.
