With the Qstarz BT-Q1000XT Bluetooth GPS receiver & GPS logger, a new era has begun for the GPS Travel Recorder. This compact and accurate GPS receiver and logger records your traveled route with surgical precision. Whether you're in the car, on a motorbike or in a boat, all your times are accurately clocked. The Q1OOOXT function provides more power and capacities that are useful for people who want to take the device on a journey. The device has a memory capacity of 40 days. Ideal for people who especially love long trips.
You can log a maximum of 400,000 waypoints. Via the timetable function, you also log specific moments. The BT-Q1000XT then switches itself off again. This function is especially useful for smart fleet management. Whatever you log in, you probably see in the results that you keep your speed. For hard drivers, this Qstarsz also offers a solution. A pleasant zoom sound will then enter your hearing system so that you have been warned.
I see two clear advantages to this device: it finds a GPS fix very quickly; and it contains a virtually unlimited logger of your position. As for the GPS fix: usually 10-15s cold start; and often only a few (literally 1 to 3) seconds when it has lost the satellites for a while. It can either only send the position via bluetooth, or that and log. The capacity is more than sufficient (10 to 15 days in normal use (full day), I think. The battery is a small rechargeable LiOn (included) thing. I don't know how long it works, but at least more than 12 hours. I can evaluate the sensitivity less, but it is certainly not on the low side (also indoors). The included software is quite complete, is not 100% bug-free, but certainly works satisfactorily (including the ability to map tracks, in time, distance, and even altitude. It also allows some configuration of the GPS. It is important to scan the manual before using it (in a first trip it didn't log anything - my mistake!). Is also not excessively lost (I lost a previous one...). I mainly use it with a foolography bluetooth GPS receiver for a Nikon camera - and it works flawlessly for geotagging. In short, not the cheapest, but definitely worth the money.

I have been using the Qstarz since December 2010 and I am very satisfied. The device has a very fast connection and holds it well. Even if the device is in the saddle bag of my bike, the route traveled is logged well. Linking the photos to the route goes very well. You don't actually have to do anything for that, except set the time and date of the device correctly, so that they correspond to the time and date of the Qstarz. Loading the logged route is easy. You open the software (which comes on a DVD), turn on the Qstarz, and you'll be presented with a wizard that guides you through the process. It is also worth mentioning that the software can be downloaded in Dutch.

No new driver for Windows 10 and the software is a disaster. Otherwise a great logger.
