Common error messages on Philips fully automatic coffee machines

Sometimes, a Philips fully automatic coffee machine gives an error message. Usually, you can solve the problem yourself, by performing a number of actions. In this article, I'll help you by listing the most common error messages. Including an explanation of how to solve the problem, of course.

Solving error codes

Sometimes your fully automatic won't work and you get an error code. We'll explain how to solve the following error codes.

  1. Error code 01: blocked coffee funnel

  3. Error code 04: wrongly inserted brew group
  4. Error code 05: air in the water circuit

Error code 01: the coffee funnel is blocked

Error code 01 tells you that the coffee funnel is blocked. You can solve it like this:

  1. Turn off the coffee machine and remove the plug from the socket. Remove the brew group from the appliance.
  2. Open the lid of the pre-ground coffee compartment. This compartment is right next to the bean hopper.
  3. Insert the handle of a tablespoon into the compartment and move it up and down so that the clogged ground coffee falls down.

Error code 03: the brew group is dirty or not properly lubricated

Error code 03 tells you that the brew code is dirty or not properly lubricated. You can solve it like this:

  1. Turn off the coffee machine with the main switch.
  2. Rinse the brew group with clean water and let it air-dry.
  3. Lubricate the brew group with silicone grease.

Error code 04: the brew group hasn't been inserted properly

Error code 04 tells you that the brew group hasn't been inserted properly. You can solve it like this:

  1. Turn off the coffee machine with the main switch at the back of the machine.
  2. Remove the brew group from the appliance and re-insert it.
  3. Check if the brew group is set to the right setting before you place it.

Error code 05: there is air trapped in the water circuit

  1. Turn off the coffee machine with the main switch at the back of the machine.
  2. After 3 seconds, turn the machine back on in the same way.
