Your new JURA S8 is ready to be used. But before you can make your first cup of coffee, you have to go through a couple of steps to make the machine ready for use. We'll explain how to do this step by step. That way, you can enjoy the first cup of coffee made with your new coffee machine in no time.

Get started with your JURA S8

In the video, you'll see how to get the coffee machine ready for use step by step. It'll take about 10 minutes of your time. We'll go through these steps with you:

Step 1: turn on the machine
Step 2: adjust the water hardness
Step 3: set the water filter
Step 4: rinse the machine

Necessities:

Coffee beans
Water hardness test strip
Water filter
Container with 1L capacity

Step 1: connect the coffee machine

1: fill the bean reservoir with coffee beans. 2: insert the plug in the socket. 3: turn the machine on with the button at the top of the device. 4: scroll on the touchscreen with your finger until the right language appears. 5: confirm your choice by pressing 'speichern', the top right button.

Step 2: adjust the water hardness

1: test the water hardness with the included test strip. 2: dip the test strip in a glass of water for 2 seconds. 3. wait for 1 minute until the red bars appear on the test strip. 4: indicate the right water hardness on the machine. Move your finger left or right for this until the number of red bars matches the number on your test strip. 5: confirm your choice with 'save'.

Step 3: set the water filter

1: next, set the water filter. 2: assemble the 2 separate parts of the water filter. 3: remove the water tank from the machine. 4: place the water filter in the water tank and click it in place at the top. 5: fill the water tank up to 'max' and place it back in the machine. 6: place a container of at least 1L below the hot water spout. 7: the machine starts rinsing automatically. 8: the rinsing stops automatically and the machine will start to heat up. 9: remove the container. 10: your JURA S8 is now ready for use.

How often do you clean your JURA coffee machine?

Rinse your new JURA S8 in time. That way, you prevent blockages and defects. In addition, the coffee will remain the tastiest and you use the machine in a hygienic way. Perform the following maintenance:

Clean milk system: daily
Rinse brew group: once every 1.5 months
Replace water filter: every 3 months
Descale: every 2 years (with a water filter)
