How do you measure the required cutout width?
The niche width is the width of the interior of the space you place the cooktop in.
Measure from the left side to the right side of the niche with a measuring tape. Keep the tape measure tight. You now know the width of your niche. The top of a cooktop is always slightly wider than the niche itself, because the edge rests on the countertop.
- Measure the niche width
- Measure the niche depth
- Measure the thickness of your countertop
