Pros and cons

According to our USB flash drive expert

You can transfer files up to 5 times faster via USB-C 3.1 than with USB 3.0.
This stick has both a USB-C and USB-A connector, so you can use it with almost any device.
Thanks to the software data encryption, you store files securely.
The data encryption of your USB flash drive isn't hardware-based, which would have been more secure than its software-based encryption.

Description

The SanDisk Ultra Dual Drive Luxe USB-C 512GB is a fast USB flash drive with backup feature. This means your files are always secure on this USB flash drive. With a 150MB/s read speed, photos open right away when you click on them on your computer. The USB-C 3.1 connector helps make this possible, because it's 5 times faster than USB 3.0. In addition, the aluminum casing protects your USB flash drive against drops and bumps. This USB flash drive is also splash proof, so you don't have to worry about rain when you're on the go.

Very handy and compact device

Compact
Fast transfer
Beautiful and thoughtful design
No LED indication

I still had an old "SanDisk Cruzer" with 32GB of storage. When I took this "Ultra Dual" out of the packaging, it became clear to me that I had done well with this purchase. What a difference! Not only in the size of the device but certainly in the specs. Speed is key here. the metal housing also feels really solid and high-quality. I am convinced that this USB stick will serve me for a very long time...

Lots of capacity for additional backups

Formatable with Linux formats
Combination of two USB formats (PC and smartphone)
One exit remains uncovered

The product can hold my wife's entire photo collection. However, that should never be the only backup, but I pay extra attention and always go for at least three backups; one of them is handy on one stick now, we'll see how long that pulls it...
