Product Expert barbecues

Barbecuing on gas or electricity? That is not barbecuing. According to you, it has to be smoking, firing it up and burning it. That's why you're crazy about the Smokey Mountain Cooker. This adds a smoke flavor to your dishes. You can easily refill briquettes and smoke wood to give meat, fish, and vegetables that aromatic smoke flavor, because this smoker has a large opening. For the perfect result you can fully play with the air supply. Thanks to the integrated lid thermometer, you have constant control of the temperature during barbecuing. The barbecue offers a wide range of options, because it has 2 chromed racks and two levels for smoking and grilling. The porcelain enamelled water collection scale (filled with water, wine or beer) prevents your dishes from drying out. The drip tray ensures that fats are collected. You can easily take the Smokey Mountain Cooker with you on a holiday thanks to its compact size. The barbecue is well protected against dirt and rain thanks to the included high-quality cover.

"For the price it's a very good smoker"
With a diameter of: 57 cm

By Tommy Lapré on 24 July 2019

  • Pros:
A lot of surface to cook on because of the second grate
  • Pros:
When the BBQ is set right the temperature stays quite steady
  • Pros:
The sturdy feet on the base keeps the smoker steady on the ground
  • Pros:
Good to cook for large groups of people
  • Pros:
For an 8 hour cook I didn't need to refill the charcoal and briquettes with rainy and windy conditions
  • Con:
The door doesn't fit nicely. It has a pretty large gap and the material is very light
  • Con:
The edges of the lit leak a little bit
  • Con:
I got instant damp in the thermometer (already when the weather was still nice) making it hard to read
  • Con:
It might be to big for two to four people unless you don't mind using a lot of charcoal

I had to get used to the size of the smoker. I've got the 57cm kettle, but it looks small compared to the smoker. That's because of the height of the smoker (two grilling grates). I noticed that it uses a lot of charcoal and in my opinion it's quite a lot if you're doing a cook only for one or two people. I guess it might even be to big for four people, but that is something I need to find out. Still the thing looks amazing in the backyard. I didn't like the lit for the charcoal on the side of it. It's poorly made, very light and it doesn't close it well. Also the leakage at the top isn't great. I'm going to test if bbq felt will do the trick.

I did like that the temperature kept pretty steady and that the meat came out well. I like have two grilling grates and the look of this amazing rocket. I like that if you want it to take it with you the smoker can be separated in several parts and I like that they've added the cover for the smoker. You don't have to buy that separate. Also I like the rubber ring at the side where you can put the probe through for your external thermometer.
