In connection with a standard supplied Ziggo modem/router, after a long comparison and search, I chose the Asus RT-AC51 as a router, and extremely satisfied with it!
By way of illustration, we live in a terraced house/single-family house (with 3 floors) in Zoetermeer, where we receive various WiFi signals from almost the entire neighborhood. As a result, the standard Wi-Fi from Ziggo only has good range in the living room. In the bedroom directly above, the Wifi sometimes drops out and even in the garden (1.5 meters from the Ziggo router) no range!
Installation is done in no time and is easy for everyone. Plug in the power cable, connect to the modem, connect to the laptop (can also be used with iPhone), give your own name and password to the network (for both 2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz) and you're done!
Incidentally, the router seems quite large (because of the antennas), but it is quite small, light, sleek design and the antennas do not have to point all the way up for a very good signal.
Now with the Asus RT-AC51 in the entire house, garage and garden excellent wireless range (at 2.4 Ghz)!
Added to this the TP-Link RE200 (Wi-Fi repeater for € **,-), since the Airport of our iMac (in the study on the 3rd floor) no longer works. For installation, only press the WPS button on both and the network is copied. Placed in a power strip at the top, network cable in and everything works perfectly! Even though we use all the wireless devices in the house (there are quite a few) and we stream (live) ourselves, we still have good reception on the iMac and we stream happily!
Can safely say, for both products, the best choice if you want a lot of value for little money.
