According to our headphones expert
You won't miss a musical detail with the Beyerdynamic DT 770. These headphones have a frequency range of 5 to 35,000Hz. This means they reproduce both the highest as well as the lowest tones of a song. The melodies always sound clear, while the bass has a deep sound. These headphones are suitable for studio use because of the accurate sound reproduction. The closed design doesn't leak music, so you won't be disturbed by ambient noise. If you're working in the studio for hours, the soft ear cushions ensure a comfortable listening experience.

I was looking for headphones for the office garden. So this had to muffle the sound environment so that I can work quietly. After trying a lot of headphones, I like the Beyerdynamic the best.
As my first headphones I ordered the Bose Quitecomfort 35 because they are known as the best headphones almost everywhere. These headphones have active noise canceling, which actively reduces the ambient noise. This worked so well that I quickly got a headache from the absolute silence, so I sent it back. Then I opted for the Momentum Wireless from Sennheiser. It also has active noise canceling, only to a lesser extent than the Bose. This didn't give me a headache, but because of the small ear cups, it didn't sit nicely on my head/ears. That's why it didn't become this one either.
I had already heard some good things about the Beyerdynamic so I decided to order this one. This has Noise Isolation, which means that the headphones have a closed sound box, which passively blocks out ambient noise. When setting up the Beyerdynamic, I was immediately very satisfied with the wearing comfort. Even after a whole working day listening to music, it still fits very well. The Noise Isolation also works well, most ambient sounds are no longer audible at low volume. If people are talking close to you or if there are loud noises, this is somewhat audible, but this is actually pleasant. The design of the headphones is nice, but I would have liked it a bit more compact. The ease of use is very good because it is simply plug and play by means of a 1.6m cable. The length of this cable is slightly longer than the average cable, but I find this pleasant when used in the office, because you still have a lot of freedom of movement. The sound quality of the Beyerdynamic is great, I can compare it with 2 high-end headphones for around €400. These 2 high-end headphones are nowhere near the Beyerdynamic in terms of sound quality. Because they are studio headphones, its range is very large, so you literally hear things you didn't hear before. The sound also sounds a lot more natural than headphones with Active Noise Canceling. The bass level is perfect for me, in the office I like to listen to quiet music to be able to concentrate. House music with bass also comes into its own. If you go towards the bass-rich tones (hardcore, hardstyle) these headphones will lack bass.
When buying these headphones you should pay attention to the model you buy, I have the 32 ohm version. This is specially designed for devices with a lower output power, such as your phone and laptop. If you use an amplifier, a good home cinema set or even studio quality equipment, there are still 80 and 250 ohms versions available.
I am very satisfied with these headphones and I can definitely recommend them!

I can recommend the DT770 pro 80Ohm because they are good headphones. It fits nicely on the head. The only problem I have with it is that my ears touch the top and bottom of the pillow and I don't like that. That's why I find a Sennheiser like the hd569 with an oval shape just a little nicer. The pillows are soft and the fabric is also soft and pleasant.
The sound quality is good. It sounds nice and the frequency response is fairly flat. The low tones are slightly emphasized, but someone can also really like that. In any case, the headphones can build up pressure more easily than open headphones.
One of the advantages of this series (DT770, 880 and 990) is that they came on the market in the early 1980s. All parts of the headphones can be replaced separately because you can disassemble them yourself and order and assemble a broken part. So you are definitely in the right place in terms of durability. The DT770 pro feels very solid Unfortunately, the cord cannot simply be disconnected and replaced. So you have a long cord for on the go. You get a pouch with the headphones that won't protect against bumps, only against dirt.
You have to make a choice which impedance version you order. Impedance refers to how much resistance the headphones give to the amplifier. If the amplifier is not strong, such as in a mobile phone, it will have difficulty with headphones with a high impedance, such as the 250 Ohm version or other headphones can also be 600 Ohm. This results in a low volume, it still sounds soft when you set the volume to maximum. However, if you have a stronger amplifier such as that of a hi-fi amplifier or a separate headphone amplifier, headphones with low impedance (resistance) can already sound very loud when you open the amplifier a little bit. That is not pleasant because the volume cannot be adjusted accurately. For home use, headphones with a higher impedance will be finer, such as the 250Ohm version. I chose the 80 Ohm version because it must be suitable for a mobile, laptop and separate headphone amplifier. This turned out to work fine, the 80Ohm version works well on all these devices.
The sound isolation is of course better than fully open headphones such as the Sennheiser hd580 or the other versions of this series. But don't expect miracles either. If you want more insulation, a Sennheiser hd280 pro is much better, for example, or take one with anti-sound (noise canceling).

Heard it for the first time with my brother who, like me, is crazy about music. I was quite impressed then. Tried it on my Huawei P9 lite and the noise level was loud enough. Smartphone is therefore no problem for the 250 ohm version. I don't have to screw up my ears. Would like to enjoy music even longer! My first real CD was Selling England by the pound by Genesis. In one word WOW!! I really got a lump in my throat listening to Firth of fifth and Chinemashow. And that while I played this album gray. It just sounds so clean, so neutral. The low end sounds insanely deep, tight and not exaggerated. Exactly as the artists intended. The middle is quiet and the highs are not bright but sparkling. You'll hear new details every time on these great headphones with music you've known for years. If you really like listening to music and you are looking for a new pair of headphones, you can stop looking. A big fat 10!!!!
