According to our laptop expert
A PCIe SSD is much faster than a 'traditional' SSD, which ensures shorter loading times.
Thanks to the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 video card, this laptop is suitable for gaming.
With the backlit keyboard, you can also type in the dark.
Doesn't have a DVD player to play CDs and DVDs.
You can play games on average settings and carry out graphics tasks on the Acer Aspire 7 A715-71G-70GD. The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 video card ensures smoothly-moving images on the 15.6-inch Full HD screen. This laptop has a PCIe SSD drive which lets you boot programs and files even faster than with a regular SSD. The IPS panel ensures lively colors from every viewing angle, which is great for editing photos and videos. In addition, you'll be less bothered by light reflection thanks to the anti-glare panel. Want to continue working or gaming in the dark? Thanks to the backlit keyboard, you'll also be able to see what you're doing in the evening.

I've been working with the Acer Aspire 7 laptop for a week now, and I really like it.
I chose this laptop because of my education (Animation and audiovisual design at the Grafisch Lyceum Utrecht). a course that demands a lot from a laptop due to the heavy programs.
The laptop is a bit on the heavy side due to its aluminum body, but not so much that it annoys you. I'm not a big fan of trackpads in general, nor this one (I always use a mouse, and I recommend that for this laptop too). But it wouldn't be fair to rate the trackpad on personal preference, so I'll do my best to review it. The trackpad is large and made of aluminum, which gives it a good feeling when you work with it. It also has a fingerprint function, but I've found that I find it easier to just type in a password as it doesn't sit comfortably on the trackpad (top left and I'm right-handed). In terms of precision, the trackpad does a good job, and your fingers glide over it easily.
The keyboard is comparable to that of a MacBook Air. So just good. It has blue backlighting. My only two negatives are the way the power button is incorporated into the keyboard and adjusting the brightness characters (I don't know if this is a manufacturing defect but they seem to be misprinted.
The screen of the Acer is, in a word, great. It's 1080p (1920 by 1080 pixels) resolution, but the colors are really beautiful. This is useful if you work with colors a lot like in photoshop or when editing a movie, and it just looks really good. The IPS works great (that you can look at the screen from every angle), my only downside is that the brightness can't be just a little lower.
There is not much to say about the camera, it is fine. My only downside is that you can't just cover the camera. Especially considering the windows privacy settings.
Now performance: Programs such as photoshop run fine on this laptop. Primary is also great, only rendering takes a little longer than I'm used to on my 3570k, but it's not fair to compare a desktop to a laptop.
Gaming also works well on this laptop, but I recommend the 16GB RAM version. Games I've played on the laptop:
Grand Theft Auto V - Medium/high msaa and vsync off - 55-76 FPS
Player Unknown's Battlegrounds - medium, distance and texture on ultra vsync off - 50-68 Fps
Mad Max - ultra vsync on - 60 Fps no drops
Hope my review helped you make a choice.
