According to our laptop expert
Thanks to the SSD drive, your laptop boots in about 15 seconds.
This model has an IPS panel that displays accurate colors from every angle.
The 17-inch screen provides enough space to work with two windows next to each other.
A 17-inch model isn't easy to carry due to its size.
The Acer Aspire 5 A517-51G-58ZH is a 17.3-inch desktop replacement, which you can use for photo and video editing, checking social media, and watching your favorite series. Thanks to the NVIDIA Geforce MX150 video card, the Acer Aspire 5 is suitable for playing simple games such as Minecraft as well as editing your holiday videos. The laptop has an Intel Core i5 processor that is up to 40% faster than the previous generation of i5 processors, with which you can run multiple heavy programs such as Photoshop simultaneously. The Full HD screen displays true colors from every angle thanks to the IPS panel. Quickly transfer large files with a speed of 1.25GB per second via the USB-C port.

As a 90-year-old I have trouble switching to Windows 10, but with the guidance of coolblue and a little bit of my grandson I manage.

I was looking for a laptop with a full HD screen and the latest 8250U processor. iCore 5 is good enough. Because everything on a full HD is shown smaller (more fits on your screen than with a 1366x768 screen, for example), I chose a 17.3 inch instead of 15.6 inch. Quite a big thing if you have it on your lap but still very pleasant. Keyboard works well and 'types' fine. Laptop feels sturdy but unfortunately is not equipped with keyboard lighting. However, I did not let that influence my choice. It's nice that it has a CD/DVD rewriter, although you don't use it very much. Yet! A separate external DVD rewriter that you can connect to the USB will cost you 30 euros extra. Not necessary with this laptop. It is always a pity that "extra software" is often installed that you do not want or need. Think of Norton antivirus (Windows Defender is already on it by default!), some games, etc. So remove those immediately. The laptop has the necessary connections and also the latest USB c. The plastic around the keyboard is quite fingerprint sensitive. It soon looks like you have grease stains all over the plastic. My previous laptop was from HP and had plastic that looked like brushed aluminum. You didn't see anything like that. All in all, a real recommendation. Just checking whether the laptop works with the built-in graphics chipset (which uses shared memory) or the nVidia Geforce, which has 2 GB of its own memory.
