All reviews here (average 9.5 out of 10) made me buy this product. Despite the fact that some 8/10 reviews indicated that the measurement was not entirely accurate, but that it was not that bad. Still they gave an 8/10! I don't, so I strongly disagree with those people. The high review rate is unjustified.
So I sent the thermometer back. Below you can read why.
I bought this thermometer because I measure my own temperature every day. I've found that swings of half a degree or more indicate that I'm fighting something so I'd better take it easy. The conventional (bottom) momenter is very accurate and constant but hassle with cleaning every time so need a new one.
So I bought this Medisana. However, I soon realized that this was not a good choice. It was operational quickly and the first measurement I carried out within a few minutes. Happy with the convenience, but that was short-lived. With this thermometer, the measurements - I have tested a number of them on both forehead and elbow - deviate from 0.1 to sometimes 0.8 degrees. If I then took a measurement 5 times in the same place, that would deviate 2 or 3 times, for example. So I can't rely on this one and ordered another one. I don't know what it is and I read a lot in reviews (now that I'm delving further into this thing, I'm a quick decision maker so only do that now). for example that the temperature of the thermometer (if you have a warm or cold hand?) is decisive. Also the environment, and whether the person and thermometer have been in that room for half an hour.
All in all, I would perhaps not completely advise against this product if you want to discover differences of more than 1 degrees (fever vs. no fever), or purely as an indication: for example a sleeping child. But I would recommend anyone who wants to measure more accurately to pay a tenner more and choose Coolblue's choice. So don't be too difficult and save yourself a lot of trouble and uncertainty.
