Pros and cons

According to our Studio microphone expert
  • This usb microphone is suitable for recording podcasts, streaming games and creating voice overs.
  • Thanks to the latency-free headphone output, you can listen to your voice recordings while talking without delay.
  • If you want to clearly register a group of speakers, you must enable the omnidirectional directional characteristic.
  • It is better not to connect the microphone to your computer via a USB hub when sound quality is important to you.

Description

The Blue Yeti Nano is a usb microphone that lets you record podcasts, stream games and create voice overs. You immediately hear how your voice sounds, because the headphone output is latency-free. This means that there is no delay between your speech and the sound reproduction of the headphones. This keeps you focused on your podcast or stream. When you register a group of speakers, you enable the omnidirectional directional characteristic. With this directional characteristic switched on, the microphone is sensitive all around. This way you register all speech regardless of which direction it comes from. Are you the only speaker or do you provide all speakers with their own Yeti Nano? Then you enable the cardioid directional characteristic. Now you take sound focused and you prevent the recording of noise.

    • Pros:
      Headphone plug on mic
    • Con:
The usb connection on the mic prone to disconnect.
    • Con:
      No USB-C adapter

It worked straight out of the box, just plug it in and it works. Using it with Windows and ChromeOS no problems so far. This mic is built to last. The only downside is the USB connection on the mic, it does not lock in tight enough so if you move the mic a lot it is prone to disconnect.
