According to our television expert
Thanks to the Neo QLED screen, you see detailed colorful images with a high brightness and powerful contrast.
The Neo AI Quantum Processor 8K improves images to an 8K resolution, so small details of the images are clearly visible.
You connect peripherals to the TV with 1 transparent cable via the sleekly designed Slim One Connect Box.
The peak brightness of this television isn't as bright as the Samsung Neo QLED 85QN900A (2021).
Full HD or 4K content won't appear as sharp as 8K content, but there's little 8K content available.
With the Samsung Neo QLED 85QN800A, you watch very sharp, bright, and detailed images. This 8K television uses thousands of small LED lights as backlight. With a 2000-nit peak brightness, these lights can become very bright or they can dim individually. As a result, the images get a powerful contrast. Dark parts of the image are truly dark and bright parts truly bright. The QLED screen ensures a large color gamut and clear, subtle color tones. Thanks to the 8K resolution, you can see the tiniest details clearly. Even though there isn't a lot of 8K footage available, this processor ensures that images with a 4K resolution get extra pixels as well. That way, all of the movies and series you watch look detailed and sharp. With the Slim One Connect Box, you connect all your products to a separate box. That means there's only one transparent cable connected to your TV. You easily click this slim box onto the back of the leg stand, so your setup looks organized and minimalist.
For gamers, this 8K TV offers 4 HDMI 2.1 inputs and useful functions in game mode. If you connect a new console to the TV with an HDMI 2.1 cable, you can enjoy images with a 100Hz refresh rate. In addition, you can also enjoy FreeSync and Variable Refresh Rate. You'll know for sure your games are displayed smoothly and you won't be bothered by choppy images or other image errors.
This new Samsung 8K TV is admirable in many aspects. 65 inch, thin profile, easily accessible HUB where you can lose all your connections from subwoofer to soundbar. The image itself shows a very large range and a lot of depth due to the new mini LEDs, but is especially in the spotlight because of its theoretically beautiful 8K screen. A lack of content in 4K or 8K is the biggest culprit of this TV for me. You are essentially paying for a TV where you cannot use its full potential. Apart from streaming services such as Netflix and Amazon Prime Video, there is very little footage that even exceeds the 4K limit. Even then, without having a subscription where you can stream unlimited amounts (4K is +/- 7Gbps), it is better not to start. This also means that the image from normal cable/digital TV (which mainly works in 720p or 1080p) will be stretched over this 8K screen, which sometimes makes the image look rather blurry. The problem poses him in the fact that when more and more 4K and 8K content does become widespread, this TV will be behind the latest technologies and TV experiences. It is in itself a phenomenal TV to have at home, but it is not much use at the moment.

My first impression when unboxing the TV is its sleek and beautiful design. The TV is very thin and has only a very small bezel, so you have a maximum screen. The small aluminum edge also gives the TV an extra luxurious look. As soon as you switch on the TV: a great picture and the sound is not too bad for a very thin TV. The detail of 8K streamed content is really great, but you also have a better (sharper) image on this TV with 4K and HD content. The samsung smart remote is also very handy: simple and yet very versatile and able to operate your other devices (telenet digibox, ...) if they are in the same cabinet together with the one connect box (a point for improvement is the description of this in the manual, I had to search for a while before I got it working) ! It is also handy that the remote control charges on sunlight. The TV also comes standard with Apple Airplay integration, so you can effortlessly stream to the TV from an Apple device.

This TV can certainly be called a premium TV. It starts with the appearance. The whole has a sleek design, thin edges and a quality feeling in terms of material. If you turn it on, the premium experience continues. It has a beautiful image, an excellent operating system with smooth navigation through the menus and it is immediately compatible with many streaming services through the Samsung apps. Even communication with competitor Apple is fine thanks to the built-in Apple TV. It is not a cheap TV but if you are looking in the segment then it is definitely recommended.
