With the Storytel Reader I read and listen to all my favorite books. I take the e-reader with me on the road without any problems, because it is a compact device.
E-ink screen
I can easily and quickly find the titles I want to read via the search function. I also find it useful that there are special lists, with top titles, new books and books classified by genre. That way I also discover titles that I hadn't thought of myself. I download the titles I like at the touch of a button. They then appear on my bookshelf. The e-ink screen is easy on the eyes. As a result, I read the e-books in enough light just like a paper book. I do think that the e-reader responds a bit slowly to touches on the touchscreen. Fortunately, I also browse books using the physical buttons on the device. That goes a lot faster.
Alternating reading and listening
A very nice feature of this e-reader is that I can alternate between reading and listening without any problems. When I download both the reading and audiobooks, I can switch at the touch of a button. The audiobook then starts where I stopped reading. This is ideal if I want to continue with the book, for example when I'm on my bike. That is also why it is extra handy that the device is nice and compact. I connect wireless headphones via bluetooth, so I don't have to worry about wires. The e-reader also has a headphone jack, so I may use wired earphones. In the evening in bed I find listening instead of reading ideal. I then set it to sleep so that the reader stops reading after a certain time. The audiobooks that have been recorded especially for Storytel are made extra lively by the added sound effects. This gives a different experience of the story.
Read through the app
I also downloaded the Storytel app on my phone. This comes in handy when I don't have an e-reader with me, but still want to read. The synchronization also comes in handy now. The book on my app opens to the page where I left off. So I read always and everywhere. I do find a disadvantage that I only use the e-reader when I have a subscription. When I read less for a while, it is annoying that the subscription continues. I can cancel it at any time, but then my device will not be useful for a while.
