After unpacking and reading the instructions, I started the treatment 2 weeks ago. You can keep track of these treatments in the accompanying app. You set the start date of your first treatment and you will automatically be notified when it is time for your next treatment (2 weeks later). The Lumea has 5 intensity buttons. You can use this at your own discretion, but there is also a special button that scans your hair/home and then sets the correct intensity for you. The treatment is simple: place the Lumea against the skin, wait until the light on the back lights up and press the button to give a flash. This way you carefully go over the entire area to be treated. Obviously it is not as fast as shaving and requires a bit more precision. But it is painless. I have now done 2 treatments but I cannot yet say that I am seeing results yet. But this is not surprising because it can take a while before you actually see results. This depends per person. If you are looking for a quick way to remove hair, I would say: look further.

Compared to the more expensive Philips Lumea IPL 9000, this model is slightly easier on your wallet, but it has some limitations. The biggest disadvantage is the lack of a rechargeable battery, which means you always have to have a socket nearby during use. Apart from this disadvantage, the Lumea 8000 Series is very user-friendly. The companion app adds a convenient dimension to the hair removal process by helping you track sessions and send notifications when it's time for a new treatment. This makes it easy to stay consistent and get the best results. In short, the Philips Lumea IPL 8000 Series BRI945/00 offers an alternative to effective IPL hair removal, but the inconvenience of constantly having to be plugged in to an electrical outlet may be a barrier for some. If that's not a problem for you, this is a good choice for home use.

I know from last year that this works really well. You have to be patient for a few weeks to see real lasting results, but it's worth it to me. It really saves me ugly stubble and ingrown hairs. Tip: cool beforehand with an icepack and the flashing is really painless!
