Theragun Relief Sand

The Theragun Relief is a compact and lightweight massage gun that I easily use on tired or stiff muscles. With the various attachments and intensity settings, I can easily adjust the massage to the area I want to treat. However, this massage gun is somewhat less suitable for removing deep knots.

Compact and lightweight The massage gun feels compact and fits comfortably in my hand. Thanks to its light weight, I can easily hold the massage gun for a while without my arm getting tired quickly. As a result, I don't just use it briefly on a single muscle group, but I also treat multiple areas in a row. After a walk or a workout, I find it pleasant to give my tired legs a short massage. Due to its compact size, I can easily store the massage gun afterwards and take it with me.

Various settings and controls With the 3 attachments, I tailor the massage to the area I am treating. Additionally, I can choose from 3 intensity settings. I usually start with a low setting and increase the intensity when I prefer a bit more pressure. This way, I determine for myself how firm the massage feels. The controls are easy to use, allowing me to get started quickly. I use the massage gun on my legs, arms, neck, and lower back, among other areas.

For stiff muscles and relaxation I notice that the massage gun provides a gentle and relaxing massage. I use it mainly when my muscles feel tired or stiff. For example, after a workout, I give my legs and arms a short massage. I also use the massage gun after a long walk to relax my tired legs. This makes the massage gun handy for short moments of relaxation in between, but also when I want to unwind quietly after exercising. Because the massage gun is not very powerful, it is less suitable for removing deep muscle knots.

Since I started using this, my shoulder and neck have been doing better. It takes some getting used to how it works, but once you get the hang of it, it's great. The speeds are adjustable, and you can use it for anything; the triangle allows you to use it in various ways.

My search for a high-quality massage gun ended on the Coolblue website when I saw the Theragun Relief. I was curious to see what a massage gun in this price range could do for my painful hips and back.

The first impression was immediately positive. The packaging looks beautiful and comes across as very luxurious. The build quality of the device also feels very good: as soon as you hold the device in your hands, I immediately get the impression that you are holding a solid product.

Operation is straightforward, but nevertheless, with these types of devices, I always recommend reading the manual for warnings, which are also provided in the handy app.

Despite its weight, the device is quite manageable. Thanks to the clever design, you can hold it in different ways. This allows you to vary how you approach a specific painful (or to be massaged) spot. This variation is also reflected in the different attachment heads: I thought beforehand that you wouldn't notice a difference between the two widest attachment heads, but I really did notice that difference!

I also noticed the difference in my pain symptoms, by the way. To me, a massage feels a bit like a light shockwave therapy session at the physio: sometimes quite painful during the massage, but recovery sets in quickly enough afterwards. It is not the same, of course, but it does help me postpone a visit to the physio (so even though the price is quite steep, you get your money's worth in no time).

There are also a few points I like less about the Theragun.

For instance, the attachment heads are not very easy to change: you have to apply quite a bit of force. And the packaging looks very luxurious, but it isn't very practical if you use the device regularly and need to switch heads. A separate bag or case would be easier.

The heavy build quality of the Theragun is also a weakness for some people. With small hands, the device is harder to hold, especially if you have less strength in your hands.

But… all in all, I am still very satisfied with the Theragun Relief. It is not only beautiful to look at, but also very powerful and versatile. I just accept the downsides as part of the deal.
