According to our radial arm saw expert
Also for straight cuts through thick beams: with the maximum cutting depth of 90 millimeters, you can also cut straight through thick beams.
More support for large workpieces: thanks to the table extension, your saw reach is larger and large workpieces stay in place properly.
Saw all miter angles: the saw head tilts to the left and right, so you don't have to turn your workpiece.
Only thin boards in miter: you can only saw through thin boards in miter because of the 55mm maximum cutting depth.
Shorter cord: the 2-meter cord is shorter than average, so you’ll need to work closer to a socket.
The Bosch GCM 305-254 D feels robust and exudes professionalism from the moment you pick it up. Thanks to the laser guide, you can almost always make precise and accurate cuts—I can be brief about this: your work comes out perfectly. The vacuum connection is ideal: sawdust is neatly disposed of, and your workspace stays relatively clean. The controls and miter settings are intuitive, making them easy to use even for those who don't use miter saws daily.
However, there are some caveats. The built-in light isn't very bright, so it's of little use if you're working in a dim corner. Moreover, this is a huge tool to store—you'll need plenty of space in your shed or workshop.
