The Marshall Emberton III is a small speaker that I can easily use anywhere. The sound is clear and balanced. Unfortunately, I miss deep bass and therefore some depth.
Clear sound
The sound is balanced, because all tones are equally audible. There's no pitch that stands out louder. This makes the music sound calm and natural in any genre. In techno or house music, I'd like to hear a strong bass. Currently, I miss depth, which makes the sound less effective in these genres. The speaker's volume can be very high. When I set the volume to 60 percent, I can clearly hear the music throughout my living room. The Marshall Bluetooth app has three equalizer modes. With Speech mode, vocals sound louder and clearer. I find it a shame that I can't adjust the equalizer for bass, midrange, and treble to my preference.
Compact size
The size is conveniently compact. The speaker fits easily in my bag, making it easy to take with me to the park, for example. It also takes up little space on my desk. That's why I also use it on work-from-home days. Thanks to the wristband, I can hang the speaker on my wrist, keeping my hands free. This is handy when my hands are full, like packing my bag for a picnic.
Controls
The speaker has all the buttons I need to quickly control the music. I connect a new device using the Bluetooth button. The middle button controls the volume and starts or pauses the music. I slide this middle button left, right, up, or down and then press it. Sometimes I don't always feel whether I'm sliding and pressing it correctly, which sometimes means I don't get the desired action.
