Business use, On the go, Photo editing, School, Spreadsheets and presentations, Streaming movies and series, Video editingOur digital expert will help you, but it can sometimes make mistakes, like humans do.
According to our laptop expert
With the Apple MacBook Air, you can easily work on demanding tasks and open demanding apps without problems.
With the Apple M4 chip, you can open most apps without any problems and connect up to 2 extra screens.
This model easily fits in your bag thanks to the small 13-inch screen.
If you want to use the best screen and the heaviest professional apps, you'll need the MacBook Pro.
On the small 13-inch screen, you can see details less clearly and keep less of an overview of your files.

Business use, On the go, Photo editing, School, Spreadsheets and presentations, Streaming movies and series, Video editingI ordered a Neo first; it’s a great device, mind you, especially for €700, or €800 for the one with TouchID. But the little things, like the lack of a backlit keyboard and the speaker sound, started to annoy me.
I looked around further, and probably due to the release of the new 2026 M5 model, this 2025 MacBook Air M4 is now competitively priced. If you can spare the extra 100-200 euros and are just as much of a nitpicker as I am about the minor details mentioned above, this is a logical choice.
Super-fast M4 chip, 16GB RAM, backlit keyboard, and a charger included.
Okay, not the fastest charger, and that MagSafe takes some getting used to too. Tip: gently tilting it upwards breaks the magnetic connection much more easily.
Or if you have a 60/70 watt USB-C charger lying around: that works perfectly fine too!
After some tweaking, macOS works so wonderfully intuitively. Battery life is amazing; with somewhat lighter tasks, a few hours a day, a week of battery life is not out of the question. Sleep mode consumes hardly any power. It takes some getting used to closing the lid and not thinking about it anymore once you switch from Windows.
This is a keeper.

In 2016, I bought a Macbook Pro that unfortunately no longer receives updates, meaning certain applications can no longer run. I was looking at a NEO, but for only slightly more (since the M5 is out), I was able to buy this M4. Compared to the NEO, it does have a backlit keyboard, a better screen with smaller bezels, and a larger battery. The design & feel is practically a copy of my old Pro, so it feels familiar (but for hundreds of euros and a few grams less than my Pro back then). It's nice and fast again and can also be charged via USB-C. Oh, and a mini-jack for my old Apple earbuds... it seems like a detail, but I'm happy with it.
Subsequently, CoolBlue ships it within a day and is wonderfully predictable regarding delivery time - love it!
