Business use, On the go, Photo editing, School, Spreadsheets and presentations, Streaming movies and series, Video editingOur digital expert will help you, but it can sometimes make mistakes, like humans do.
According to our laptop expert
With the Apple MacBook Air, you can easily work on demanding tasks and open demanding apps without problems.
With the Apple M4 chip, you can open most apps without any problems and connect up to 2 extra screens.
This model easily fits in your bag thanks to the small 13-inch screen.
If you want to use the best screen and the heaviest professional apps, you'll need the MacBook Pro.
On the small 13-inch screen, you can see details less clearly and keep less of an overview of your files.

Design
I initially had one with a whine coil. I gave it another try, and this one doesn't have that problem at all. According to ChatGPT, that could vary by device, and that turns out to be correct. I also looked at the MacBook Pro, but I find it too big and bulky.

The MacBook Air is impressively thin and light, certainly compared to the newer MacBook Pro models, such as the M5 variants, which are clearly thicker and heavier. Additionally, the laptop is exceptionally fast, making it very pleasant to work on. Initially, therefore, I planned to keep this MacBook Air.
Unfortunately, I am quite sensitive to noise, and on a quiet evening, I noticed that the laptop was producing a constant, high-pitched sound (whine coil). It wasn't short beeps, but a persistent tone that was somewhat reminiscent of tinnitus. When I held my ear closer to the laptop, it became clear that the sound was coming from there. This was ultimately a deciding factor for me.
Additionally, I found the color to look a bit too dark blue in bright light. Personally, I prefer a more neutral, business-like appearance such as black or gray. This is, of course, a matter of taste.
All in all, it is a powerful and elegant laptop, but my personal sensitivity to high-pitched noise and preference for a different color meant that I didn't keep it after all.

Super laptop, I can recommend it to everyone. I came from Windows myself, but wouldn't go back. Works great, long battery life, beautiful and sleek design, and all that for a decent price (albeit in 2026), but that doesn't make it a lesser machine.
