LG 55 inches OLED B56 4K (2025)

I think the LG OLED B56 4K (2025) is a nice OLED entry-level model. With this OLED screen, I watch images with deep black levels and a powerful contrast. The colors look realistic. I can also easily operate the TV with the AI Magic Remote.

Deep black levels and powerful contrast The screen of the OLED B56 consists of millions of pixels that light up or dim themselves, without LED backlighting. Because each pixel switches off individually, I see every detail in a dark scene. I especially notice this in series with many dark scenes, such as House of the Dragon. I do not suffer from a gray glow around bright light sources and black is really black. I see a clear contrast between dark and light images.

Realistic colors All color details on the screen are clearly visible due to the OLED pixels, but there is more to it. When I watch a movie with HDR support, I see even more colors. This makes images more vivid and realistic. The TV also has a built-in AI processor that automatically adjusts the brightness based on what I'm watching and how light it is in the room. I find this useful, because I don't have to tinker with the image settings as much. Whatever I'm watching, I enjoy good image quality with this TV.

AI Magic Remote The LG OLED B56 comes with the new AI Magic Remote. The remote control looks a lot like the older Magic Remote and feels just as good in the hand. The new remote control has many smart AI functions and I control it with my voice. You can also easily create a voice profile for everyone in your household. This way, the TV recognizes voices and adjusts the offering accordingly. You don't have to search for a film or series for long. Do you have children? Then you can use this function to only show them child-friendly content.

I believe this is the best TV you can buy as an ‘average’ TV viewer. It is true that the brightness is slightly lower than that of the C and G series, but if you mainly watch TV in the evenings or your TV is not positioned directly opposite large windows, this TV can still provide more than enough light output for a pleasant viewing experience.

This TV is also highly suitable for gamers. With four HDMI 2.1 ports supporting 120 Hz and ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode), the TV automatically switches to a minimal latency mode. In this mode, virtually all image processing is disabled, resulting in lower input lag and faster response times. Furthermore, OLED panels naturally have a very fast pixel response, which contributes to a smooth and direct gaming experience.

I do recommend using the ISF picture profiles for the most lifelike display. The other profiles are primarily intended to make the image stand out in the showroom and can therefore look somewhat unnatural. If you like that, that is of course fine. Additionally, it is advisable to disable all energy-saving settings, as these limit the maximum brightness of the screen. I myself have also disabled all settings related to advertisements and recommendations.

All in all, this, combined with the price, actually makes this TV the best choice for the average consumer. Although the C- and G-series are technically slightly better, in my opinion, this model offers the best value for money.

I hope this TV isn't expensive, since it is a 4K OLED. The picture quality is really good, it has an extra picture mode (wow), and the remote is really cool. That remote has a scroll wheel! The kind you'd normally find on a mouse! Plus, you can point at the screen with the remote and click on things. I just have a kind of Wii. The TV is a bit small, but that also adds to its charm. The audio connections are very limited, so you have to be aware of whether they'll work with your entire sound setup. In short, it's a really excellent TV, so if you want to stay under €1000, this is a really, really, really good one.
