The Lenovo LOQ 17IRX10 is an entry-level gaming laptop with a large screen that allows me to smoothly play medium-demand games in Full HD. I play most games without stuttering at a minimum of 60 frames per second. The laptop feels sturdy, but a bit heavy.
Powerful NVIDIA RTX 5000 graphics card
On this laptop, I can smoothly play light and medium-demand games in Full HD thanks to the NVIDIA RTX 5050 graphics card. For medium-demand games, like Cities Skylines, I need DLSS support for at least 60 frames per second. Even without high detail, the game runs smoothly, but when my city gets bigger, I notice the graphics card struggles without DLSS. I play Forza Horizon smoothly without DLSS enabled. For demanding games like Flight Simulator and Starfield, the graphics card isn't powerful enough. I play these games at the lowest settings of Full HD. Even there, I need DLSS support for smooth gameplay. Therefore, this graphics card isn't suitable for these demanding games.
Gaming look with RGB keyboard
The RGB backlit keyboard gives this laptop a true gaming look. Using Lenovo Vantage, I can easily adjust different lighting types, including patterns. This Lenovo LOQ laptop also has a built-in docking station on the back. All cables are easily hidden, allowing me to play on a tidy desk. The large 17-inch screen gives me a good overview of my games. In Cities Skylines, I have a good view of my map, buildings, and roads without having to zoom out constantly. The only drawback is its weight. I find the laptop quite heavy, partly due to the plastic casing.
Good ventilation
The laptop stays cool while gaming, but it is noisy. The temperature stays around 60 degrees Celsius, which is normal for gaming. Due to its large size, the laptop has more ports on the sides and back. This allows warm air to escape smoothly. Unfortunately, the bottom of the laptop does get a bit warm. The cooling works well for entry-level gaming, but it's not sufficient for demanding gaming.
