The Bosch KGN392LAG fridge-freezer has a VitaFresh zone that keeps meat, fish, vegetables, and fruit fresh for longer. This way, my steak tastes better and grapes stay nice and crisp. When I'm hosting a dinner party, I have plenty of room for all my groceries. With super cooling, my bottles of wine are quickly chilled and securely stored in the bottle rack. The door alarm is handy but could be louder.
First impression
What immediately strikes me is the refrigerator's sleek design. The silver door looks great in my kitchen. I wipe the front and see the first fingerprint, which I easily wipe away with a cloth. The refrigerator compartment is spacious and has three adjustable shelves. Thanks to the flexible interior, I can easily adjust the refrigerator's layout. If I have a large carafe of mint water, I can easily remove the shelves. This way, I don't have to cram everything in.
Fresh for longer
The refrigerator has two zones for better food storage. In the VitaFresh 0-degree zone, fish or meat stays nicely chilled around freezing. For fruits and vegetables, I use the VitaFresh XXL drawer with high humidity. This keeps apples, cucumbers, and lettuce nice and crisp. There's so much space that I can easily store a large bunch of carrots or a head of iceberg lettuce.
Quiet and energy-efficient
The refrigerator is almost silent. In my open-plan kitchen, I barely notice it, even during online meetings. Moreover, the fridge-freezer uses little energy thanks to its A energy rating. That saves me a lot of money and feels sustainable too.
Bottle rack
For a cozy evening, I chill wine in the bottle rack. The bottles are secure and don't roll away. I also don't rattle them around in the door racks. Thanks to super cooling, my Sauvignon Blanc is heated quickly. The rack does take up some space, which can be inconvenient when I have a lot of guests. When I make a large pot of tomato soup, I prefer to remove the bottle rack. Fortunately, that's very easy.
Freezer compartment
I neatly store pizzas, ice cream, and lasagna for next week in the three transparent freezer drawers. Thanks to NoFrost, everything stays ice-free, so I never have to defrost. That saves me a lot of time.
Door alarm
If the door is left open, an alarm goes off. I don't always hear it from the couch, because the alarm is quite quiet. I actually appreciate that while I'm packing, because it keeps me from being rushed when I'm busy for a long time. Still, I'd like the alarm to be a bit louder. If I really do forget to open the door, that's nice. Fortunately, that hardly ever happens to me.
