While testing the ETNA KIF6472ZT built-in induction hob, I notice how much more enjoyable cooking is thanks to the extra space for my pans and automatic cooking programs. I do see fingerprints and grease splatters quickly, but fortunately, I wipe them off just as fast.

First impression What immediately strikes me is the size. At 70 centimeters, this hob is just slightly wider than the standard size of 60 centimeters. Because I don't have a large kitchen, I appreciate having more space for my pans while simultaneously having enough workspace left to chop vegetables. Additionally, I like the sleek, simple design, and the touchscreen works well. The hob responds quickly when I adjust a cooking setting. The hob also automatically recognizes when I place a pan down and how large it is. This ensures the hob only heats the spot where my pan is placed. With the accompanying ETNA AutoFlow extractor hood, I connect both appliances via the ConnectLife app, so the extractor hood adjusts automatically while cooking. Flexible cooking zones The hob has 4 flexible cooking zones. I connect 2 cooking zones on both sides so that my elongated pans, grill plate, or teppanyaki plate heat up completely. I find this handy, because I love grilling meat, fish, and vegetables. Thanks to the large surface area, I cook everything on the plate at the same time, and my ingredients get a nice brown crust. Meanwhile, I still have enough space on the other side to cook pasta and prepare my pasta sauce. I also set both sides of the grill plate to different settings. This way, I prepare different dishes on a single plate.

Automatic cooking programs What surprises me are the automatic cooking programs on this hob. In addition to the 10 cooking levels, I choose from 6 programs that adjust the heat to suit my dish. For example, when cooking pasta, I choose the 'boil' program. The hob brings the water to a boil and then automatically switches back to a lower setting. This keeps the water boiling without bubbling too vigorously. There is also a program for melting things like chocolate or butter. The hob keeps the heat evenly low, allowing me to melt these ingredients slowly without them burning quickly.

Memory function Then there is another cool feature: the memory function. Suppose my package is delivered while I am cooking. I can pause all cooking zones simultaneously using the pause button. As soon as I return, I press the button again and continue cooking with the same settings. Super handy! Am I not back within 10 minutes? Then the hob switches off automatically.

I like it very much and can't think of anything negative.
