Sony Bravia 83" OLED (2026)

Very satisfied with the price-quality ratio.

For this review, I used my 5-year-old Sony 55-inch AG8 OLED TV from Sony’s Master Series line with a glossy screen and the BRAVIA 6 (2026) with a matte screen as references; both televisions feature an OLED screen with Google TV.

The new TV with a matte screen and sleek design has multiple settings: standard, user, cinema, game, vivid, and energy saving. The difference between these settings is significant; in energy mode, the image is less intense and the colors are fairly flat. In vivid mode, there is a lot of intensity and the colors really pop. The initial setup is very easy via a very clear settings menu that guides you through.

Using Google TV is really great; many apps are pre-installed and there are many extra apps available in the Play Store. Additionally, you can integrate the TV into your Google Home smart home and give voice commands.

What immediately stands out about the Sony Bravia 6 55-inch is its ease of use. The television starts up smoothly and responds quickly when you browse through the menus or open an app. Google TV is well-organized and makes it easy to use your favorite streaming services. However, you do need a Google account to log in, which not everyone will find ideal. The TV's appearance is also a plus: it looks modern and fits well in most living rooms. The picture is beautiful and sharp enough to enjoy watching movies and series, but the difference compared to other good televisions is not immediately spectacular. The sound is adequate for normal use, although you do miss some extra immersion. Unfortunately, the remote control feels a bit simple and cheap. A nice TV for everyday use.
