Sennheiser HDB 630 Silver

Fantastic sound. Very detailed. Control via a good app. Using the earcups is somewhat complicated.

As a lighting and sound technician, I am quite critical when it comes to sound. I work daily on sound checks, live sound, and adjusting systems, so I quickly notice when headphones overemphasize certain frequencies or, conversely, lose detail. That is why the Sennheiser HDB 630 pleasantly surprised me. The sound quality is exceptionally clear and detailed, with a nice balance between the low, mid, and high tones. Active Noise Cancellation is also one of the biggest plus points for me. Because of my job, I am often in very busy environments with a lot of noise: events, setup, dismantling, traffic, and people constantly around me. That is precisely why I greatly appreciate it when headphones give me the opportunity to create complete peace and quiet for a moment.

The HDB 630 also remains comfortable during longer listening sessions. That is important to me, because I also wear them for extended periods while flying, at home, or after a long workday.

As a sound technician, I am not easily impressed by headphones. I quickly notice when a product is primarily trying to impress with a lot of bass or an exaggerated sound. The HDB 630 does things just a little differently for me. It delivers a detailed and balanced sound and combines that with excellent noise cancellation, high wearing comfort, and a replaceable battery. It is especially that combination of professional sound quality and the ability to completely shut myself off from my surroundings that makes all the difference for me.

I need comfortable, wireless ANC headphones for work, but I always had to sacrifice sound quality for them. (I previously had the Sony XM4). I am happy to say that is not the case with these headphones. At least as convenient to use, but a full class higher in sound quality. Surprising soundstage for a closed-back! Very mature sound. The PEQ is also fantastic; super comprehensive and you can set it in the app, but it is saved on-device.

The battery is also super nice. I charge them on the weekend and can use them for my entire work week without any problem.

Highly recommended if you are looking for something in this segment but take sound quality seriously!
