Which car seat is suitable for my child?
Which car seat is suitable for your child depends on their length and weight. In this article, you can read about the differences between baby seats, toddler seats, children seats, and multi-age seats. This way, you'll know which car seat is the right one for your child.

Multi-age seats
Multi-age seats grow with your child and are suitable for different ages. You can use these car seats sometimes from birth at 40cm to 12 years or a 135cm length. Check whether the seat is meant for use after the birth or for a later moment.
R129/or i-Size car seat
All Maxi-Cosi car seats have Isofix to attach the seat in the car. This complies with the latest regulations for car seats R129/I-Size. With these regulations, you can determine which seat is the right one according to the length of your child. Don't you know the length of your child? Look at the weight or the age. Cars from 2014 and later have Isofix to attach the seat. You can also attach all Maxi-Cosi seats with the seat belt, but we don't recommend this. Only use this option if you don't have Isofix. Isofix makes placing the seat quick and easy and reduces the chance of mistakes.
Car seat per length
Baby: 40 to 83cm
Baby car seats are suitable for children from birth until they're about 83cm. These car seats are also known as a Maxi-Cosi or carry cot. You can easily lift them in and out of the car and attach them to your stroller with the right adapters.
Toddler: 71 to 105cm
When your child is too big for a baby car seat, you can use a toddler car seat. Depending on the model, you can use a toddler seat when your child reaches a 71cm length. Chlidren up to a 105cm length fit in a toddler car seat. Always transport your child up to 15 months backwards in the car.
Child: 105 to 135cm
Maxi-Cosi has car seats for children up to 12 years. For children between 105 and 135cm, choose a children's car seat without seat belt harness. You can place them in the car with the seat belt and Isofix.
1 seat for all ages
A multi-age car seat is a combination of several types of car seats. Depending on the car seat, you can use this car seat from birth until your child doesn't need a car seat anymore. The first years, you can secure your child with the seat belt harness. When you convert the seat to a booster seat, you can secure your child with the seat belt.
