You put in-ear earbuds into your ear canal. That way, ambient noise is blocked out and the bass is clearly audible. In-ear earbuds are dangerous to use in traffic. When you're cycling, you won't be able to hear the cars. On the other hand, if you listen to music in the train, bus or tram, in-ear earbuds are a good choice.
